Purchasing Director (m/f/d)
Babcock Wanson DACH GmbH
To improve co-operation between the Babcock Wanson Group's four production plants in Germany, France, Italy and Norway.
Your tasks:
Strategic purchasing
- Develop and implement group-wide purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and build long-term partnerships.
- Monitor market trends and conditions to anticipate changes in supply and demand.
Supplier management
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, delivery and cost targets are met.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed.
- Resolve any problems or disputes with suppliers in a timely and effective manner.
Cost management
- Analyse and manage purchasing budgets and ensure that they are in line with the company's financial objectives.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve value throughout the supply chain.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track purchasing performance.
Compliance and risk management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards in all purchasing activities.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including the financial stability of suppliers and geopolitical factors.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all purchasing activities and contracts.
Team leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performance purchasing team and offer coaching and mentoring.
- Promote a collaborative and results-orientated working environment.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals and identify opportunities for professional development.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with other departments, especially Finance, Operations and Legal, to align purchasing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Your profile:
- At least 10 years' experience in procurement or supply chain management in industry in an international environment, including at least 5 years in a management position.
- Sound knowledge of supply chain management, industrial performance principles and production processes.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a focus on local teams in the context of cross-functional projects in an international context.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Outstanding interpersonal and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
- Good command of digital tools and industrial management software.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, production, supply chain management or a related field.
- Business fluent in German and English (min. C1 level)
- Willingness to travel
